(一) Morning: Panda Valley
• Arrival at the Scenic Area: It is recommended to depart around 7:00 AM. The driver will pick you up from your hotel in advance, and you will travel to Panda Valley by private car. You will arrive at the scenic area around 8:00 AM, just in time to see the giant pandas enjoying their breakfast outdoors. You can first visit the Giant Panda Ecological Enclosure for a close-up view of these adorable, round creatures.
• Tour Route: After observing the giant pandas, walk up along the wooden boardwalk, where you may encounter red pandas strolling around. The staff feed the red pandas at irregular intervals, usually starting from the lower areas and moving upward around 9:00 AM. If you happen to be near the exit at this time, don’t worry—you can exit and re-enter from the lower entrance to see the red pandas during their feeding time.
• Duration: The visit to Panda Valley takes about 2–3 hours.
(二) Noon: Lunch Break
After leaving Panda Valley, take the private car to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Enjoy local specialties such as Hongtang Laozao (brown sugar glutinous rice wine) from Taipingjie Zhang Laozao, Jiang’an Road You Rabbit Head, or Cultural Revolution-style scallion rolls. After the meal, take a short rest to recharge for the afternoon itinerary.
(三) Afternoon: Dujiangyan Scenic Area
• Arrival at the Scenic Area: Depart around 1:00 PM and take the private car to the Dujiangyan Scenic Area. It is recommended to enter through Gate No. 6 at Qin Yan Lou, the highest vantage point in the area, offering a panoramic view of Dujiangyan.
• Tour Route: After entering, visit the following attractions in sequence: Erwang Temple, Anlan Suspension Bridge, Fish Mouth, Flying Sand Weir, and Bottle-Neck Channel.
￮ Erwang Temple: A shrine dedicated to Li Bing, the ancient water-control expert, built into the mountainside and known as the "Jade Fortress Fairyland."
￮ Anlan Suspension Bridge: Spanning the turbulent Min River, also called the "Couples' Bridge."
￮ Fish Mouth: A levee that ingeniously divides the Min River into two streams.
￮ Flying Sand Weir: A structure with powerful sediment-discharging capabilities.
￮ Bottle-Neck Channel: Precisely controls the flow of water into the Chengdu Plain.
The entire route is downhill, making it an easy walk. Finally, exit the scenic area from Lidui Park.
• Duration: The visit to Dujiangyan takes about 3–4 hours.
(四) Evening: Return Trip
After the tour, take the private car back to the departure point, concluding a delightful day.
